ABOUT BFF
Brecon Fringe has been around ever since the first Jazz Festival in Brecon, 25 years ago (Happy 25th Birthday Brecon Jazz!)taking place in pubs in and around Brecon.
Three years ago we (Karin Mear, Ian Milton & Nigel Evans) produced the first ever programme of events for the Brecon Fringe Festival - BRECON FRINGE GUIDE -and we have since continued to market the Fringe both in the media and on the internet. It has gained status and attracts large crowds including both jazz and non-jazz fans. This year we produced twice as many Fringe Guides as last year and once again they were in great demand.
The majority of gigs and events over the Fringe are organised and funded independently by local landlords and venue owners.
Brecon Fringe offers opportunities for local bands to perform (as well as bands from further afield). In general Brecon Fringe Festival offers blues, rock, R&B and alternative performances as well as occasional bursts of jazz. The Fringe events receive no public funding and contribute greatly to the local economy.
