BRECON FRINGE by HUW PARSONS is available now - it's selling fast so get your copy early.

Local author and photographer Huw Parsons has published a book documenting his experience of Brecon Fringe festival 2009. The book, entitled BRECON FRINGE is crammed with colour photos taken at last year's Fringe as well as anecdotes and comments by Fringe performers and visitors.

Huw has included an archival section in his book which takes the reader back to when the Jazz Festival began and the Fringe was just a stirring in a couple of Brecon pubs.

This is a book for anyone with an interest in Brecon Fringe Festival or indeed Brecon as a town. Huw has an eye for the amusing as well as the historical view. Don't expect the usual overused images of jazz musicians with their brass horns and peaked caps. Huw has managed to capture the essence of the Fringe with images of Welsh valley girls up for the weekend, guitarists stripped to the waist and families having fun along with shots of Festival go-ers attracted by Brecon's charming streets and townscape. It's not a frivolous book but shows us one weekend in the life of Brecon and is likely to become a collectable item for future generations.

Brecon Fringe by Huw Parsons is on sale in Brecon at Country Life & Welsh Flair, Object Havoc, Brecknock Museum and Brecon Cathedral Bookshop.
