Pilgrims Restaurant and Tearooms is situated at the Cathedral Close, Brecon Cathedral. Pilgrims and Musictown present a  three day programme of music at Pilgrims which is a family friendly venue with lots of safe, green space.

Friday 11th August

  • Mary Harp

    Mary Dunsford and the Have-A-Go Harp Workshop for Kids

    • Info: Mary Dunsford has been playing the harp for twenty five years, starting at the age of 8 in Llanfair Caereinion, Mid-Wales. She has performed in all the top concert venues across the country, including the Royal Albert Hall, London, Sheffield Hallam FM Arena, and the Sage, Gateshead, and has a particular passion for playing more modern, popular styles on the harp.

    • Info: Authentic Appalachian sounds by way of the Black Mountains on the banjo, mandolin, guitar and acoustic bass with close harmony singing. This is first generation bluegrass  with attention to both musical and historical detail: Black Mountain Bluegrass have played numerous festival gigs at folk and bluegrass events throughout South Wales.

  • Frazz Parade 2017

    Brecon Frazz Parade 2017

    • Info: The theme is Alys In Wonderland. There will be a parade as part of the Brecon Jazz and Fringe Weekend. It is a chance to dress up and celebrate and everyone is welcome to join in. The theme this year is Alys In Wonderland. Similar to the early years of the Brecon Jazz Festival, this year's parade is a collaboration between local community groups, venues and individuals, and is a chance for everyone to get involved. There are free workshops running up to the event. or you can prepare your own for a group, club or business you are part of. If you can't get to any of these simply show up wearing your brightest clothes to help fill the town with noise, colour and fun. This is definitely a case of 'the more the merrier' so spread the word! (STARTS AT BRECON CATHEDRAL MEET AT 1PM, STARTS AT 2PM AND ENDS AT THEATR BRYCHEINIOG).     • Info: Brecon's Alive & Kickin' Community Choir was formed in May 2013 by singing practioner and vocal coach Tanya Walker. The choir performs a variety of music including Tanya Walker's original songs.

    • Info: Harleys Bars, oddly under the impression this year that it's a Brecon Jazz venue. (No, mate. Brecon Jazz are next door. Number twelve, with a red door). However, Samba Brecon was formed after Brecon Fringe two years ago when founder member Catherine Pape heard a visiting samba band and decided to get a local one started. Samba Brecon now has a regular membership and a calendar of local events.

Brecon Fringe Festival 2017

Brecon Fringe Festival 2017 will take place from Thursday, August 10 - Sunday, August 13. There are 30+ venues again in 2017 with live music and other events taking place all over town and in nearby villages.

The 2017 programme will be updated shortly  but visit us our Facebook Page  and follow @BreconFringe for up to date news and comments in the meantime.
